Dutch National Found Dead in Nepal Hotel

A Dutchman, staying at Hotel Namaste in Pokhara city in western Nepal, was found dead on his bed on Friday, a leading English newspaper, The Himalayan Times daily reported on Saturday.

 

According to the daily, K Von Groeningen, 52, a citizen of the Netherlands was found dead in his bed.

 

The proprietor of the hotel, Prem Nepali, informed the Ward Police Office after he found Groeningen dead, who went to bed after dinner Friday night.

 

Groeningen had been staying in the hotel in the famous tourism city, some 200 km west of Kathmandu, for the last six months, said Nepali, adding that he was suffering from jaundice and had been taking medicines.

 

According to the report, Groeningen got married to a Nepali woman six years ago, but was staying separately for the last six months. The couple has a son. Groeningen used to come to Nepal frequently.

 

Investigation into Groeningen's death is going on, Kaski district police office said.
