Shanghai ranked top as China's hottest tourism city during the National Day holiday this year, according to Ctrip.com, one of China's largest Web-based travel agencies.

The ranking, including 40 major Chinese cities, was compiled from the Website's statistics for reservations for hotels, air tickets and tours. Beijing and Hangzhou followed Shanghai to take the second and third place on the list.
