Poetic Jiang Nan

The exhibition, jointly organized by US-based ArtNetworking.com and the Art50 highlights Suzhou, a typical city that bears features of Jiang Nan, the region of the south of the Yangtze River in China. Six Suzhou-born artists, including Xu Guanquan, Chen Weibin and Wu Zhanyuan, will present their paintings portraying beauties, homes and scenery.

Liang Yue's Solo

Hong Lei's Solo

With the theme ``Chinese Skin Texture,'' artist Hong Lei will give his solo. Hong, born in Jiangsu in 1960 is a graduate of the Art and Crafts department of the Nanjing Academy of Arts and Central Academy of Fine Arts. The artist has toured to Japan, Belgium to present his works.

Icons of Power

The exhibition highlights original news photographs from the 1950s portraying the public image of Mao Zedong and the top leadership of the period. They include images of Zhou Enlai, Zhu De, Peng Dehuai, Liu Shao Qi, Soong Ching Ling and Deng Xiao Ping.

Pierre Boncompain's Painting

The exhibition is held as a retrospect to the artist. Pierre Boncompain was born in Provence into an educated family where an interest in all of the arts was nurtured from a young age. The pristine landscape of Boncompain's native Provence has remained largely unchanged, continuing to attract visitors from all over the world. It is this poetic aspect of Provence that provides endless inspiration for the artist.

Read History--Pork Landscape

The exhibition features oils, photos and installations given by artist Huang Yan. The uniqueness of the artist is that he imitates the ancient ``Tattoo'' to paint his body with the Chinese Shan-shui color paintings and tries to use his own body to experience the mountain-water spirit in the traditional scholar's paintings, reflecting the humanity, which is inherited from the contemporary artists.

Hong Kong Print Exhibition

Works at this exhibition are contributed by the Hong Kong Print Association. The association, established by Liao Xiuping 26 years ago, is among few associations with long history in art section in Hong Kong. Artists include Lu Huizhu, Xia Biquan, Weng Xiumei, Chen Jincheng, Feng Haoran and so on.

Abstract Paintings Show
