Central China County Holds Fete to Worship Fuxi
Local residents dance during a fete to worship legendary emperor Fuxi March 4 in Huaiyan county, central China's Henan Province.

Fuxi is a legendary ruler of great antiquity, the first of the Three August Ones, credited with the invention of hunting, fishing and the domestication of animals. It has been said that Fuxi founded a capital and was buried in Huaiyan.

A month-long fete is held from Feb. 2 to March 3 of the lunar calendar every year.
