Project Starts to Cut Rail Travel Time in Western China
Construction of a railway bridge between Xi'an and Baoji cities, two large cities in northwest China, started Tuesday.

It marks the beginning of a project to shorten the journey on the Xi'an-Baoji railway section, believed the quickest railway section in China.

When the project is completed, train speeds on this section will be increased from 120-140 km per hour to 160-200 km per hour, setting a national record.

The project also includes construction of 143 curve tracks and three tunnels. It is scheduled to complete in five months.
