Swallow Festival in Huaiji
A swallow festival was held in Huaiji this Monday. And 4 pairs of swallow nest were sold at 280 thousand yuan (US$33,800) by auction. The highest pair is sold at 110 thousand yuan(US$13,300).

According to some related resources, there are 170 water-eroded caves distributing at Qiaotou town, Huaiji. Sallow cliff is the biggest one, and over 100 thousand swiftlets live there. Qiaotou town is also the only swallow nest producing area and swiftlet living area in mainland China.

The swallow nests sold on the auction were picked up on the rock over one hundred height from earth by two master climbers. The upset price for each swallow nest is 10 thousand yuan. No.1 bidder won 4 of them in the competitive auction; the highest price for one swallow nest he bid is 110 thousand.

On the other hand there are 80 projects deal in the "swallow festival" with the total investment fund 16.6 billion yuan.
