Sea World Carnival to Greet X'mas

A Christmas carnival will be held in the Sea World plaza and bar street at Shekou on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24.

The carnival is being organized by China Merchants Real Estate (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd. and Tian'an Honglong Industrial Development Co. Ltd.

It will also mark the 20th anniversary of the naming of Sea World on the Minghua ship by the late Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping, as well as celebrate the reopening of the Sea World park after renovations.

A series of activities, to begin at 6 pm, are expected to draw a large audience. These include lucky draws, during which a sedan car and electrical home appliances will be handed out as prizes, performances by bands, sailors, a boys choir and locals singing English songs, a masked carnival, fireworks and a Christmas buffet.

A 10-meter high decorated Christmas tree will add to the festive atmosphere.

The Minghua will take on a new look with a huge Christmas picture in neon lights at the front of the ship.

The bridge and dock will be decorated with flowers, bells, gloves and Christmas stockings.

Celebrations in the Sea World bar street will begin at 6 pm and last until midnight.

Thanks to China Merchants Real Estate (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd., developer of the Sea World bar plaza and well-known designers Nihonsekkei, Sasaki and SBA, the plaza has now become a recreation center tailored to exotic tastes, with well-known Western eateries, bars and cafes.

Visitors can find Kosmo Coffee, SPR Coffee, Nutaste Coffee, Chinabeach Bar, Mccawleys Irish Bar, Italian Bar, Sun Bar, Amigos Restaurant and TCBY, just to name a few. Close by, there are modern office buildings, banks, villas and supermarkets.
