HK Welcomes Christmas with Activities

As an international metropolis, Hong Kong features the unique blend of Western culture and the Chinese tradition. That's why it's one of the most attractive tourist cities in the world.

As Christmas Day approaches, Hong Kong is expected to attract hundreds of thousands of tourists from every corner of the world. To create a festive atmosphere for the tourists, the city has dressed itself up in its holiday best. Among the highlights are the glittering Christmas trees and lights on both banks of Victoria Harbor.

During Christmas and New Year's Day, the local travel authority will set up a Christmas Magic Fairyland in Princess Statue Square in Chung Wan, at the center of which will be a 12-story Christmas tree. From 7 pm to 10 pm throughout the holiday visitors will also have the chance to enjoy an electronic music concert.

The local travel authority has also added to the holiday spirit by decorating eight electric buses with colorful Christmas lights for the first time. The mobile Christmas "gifts" will undoubtedly bring more joy to tourists and locals alike.

Other entertainment activities in Hong Kong will include the Global Carnival, the Hong Kong Industrial Products Exhibition and horse racing.

On Christmas Eve, tourists can enjoy the multi-media lighting and music performances at Victoria Harbor.

Of course, the Christmas holiday is also a wonderful time for tourists to try foods and drinks of various kinds. The most famous dining venues can be found at the Peak, Food Street in Causeway Bay and Lan Kwai Fong.
