Hotel Background Music Charges to Skyrocket

Charges for hotel background music have been skyrocketing in Beijing since the current music copyright agreement expired on April 10th this year.

The Music Copyright Society of China says the music fee in star-level hotels could rise by over 100 percent.

The 63 hotels affiliated to the Beijing Tourism Industry Association could enjoy some discounts.

Meanwhile, the Beijing Tourism Industry Association and Music Copyright Society of China are discussing the contract renewal.
