Ancient Roman Civilization Exhibits in Beijing

An exhibition of ancient Roman civilization has kicked off at the National Museum of China in Beijing.

173 priceless artifacts shipped from Italy are being shown in the exhibition, offering an opportunity to admire one of history's most powerful civilizations.

The treasures have been divided into two parts. One shows the political power and regime transfer of ancient Rome, featuring statues of Augustus Caesar and other Roman emperors, while the other depicts the daily life of Romans, emphasizing the economy, culture and customs of the time.

The exhibition is being sponsored by the national museum and Italian culture and heritage departments. It will travel to south China's Henan Province in December after finishing its six-month run in Beijing.
