An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale jolted New Britain region, Papua New Guinea at 06:01: 05 GMT on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 139.00 km, was initially determined to be at 4.8192 degrees south latitude and 151.6304 degrees east longitude.
