Russian medical team leaves for home

A 65-member Russian medical team wrapped up a two-week rescue and relief operation in quake-hit southwest China's Sichuan Province and returned to Russia on late Tuesday.

The team, comprising experts with surgical department, internalmedicine, paediatrics, neurosurgery, and psychotherapy, arrived in Chengdu on May 20.

The medical team treated 1,516 patients and performed 102 operations. They also brought medical equipment, including an electrocardiograph and an X-ray, along with 7 tons of medicine.

The team donated rest of medicine to local people before leaving for home.
