Located 28 kilometers east of the Zhongshan Gate of Nanjing, the capital city of Jiangsu Province, the ancient Tangshan Town is one of the most famous spa destinations in China. The town is truly a natural ecological park with great views of green forests, beautiful waters, bubbling hot springs and colorful travertine sinters.

In the Liang Dynasty (502-557), one of the Southern Dynasties (420-589), Tangshan Town's hot springs were once designated for imperial use only. The town boasts many renowned spa resorts, villas and hotels, including the Nanjing Tangshan Easpring Resort, Nanjing East Lake Laguna Island Spa Resort, Tangshan No.1 Hot Spring Sanatorium, Jiang Kai-shek's Hot Spring Villa, and Tangshan Sheng Quan Hot spring Hotel.

The most popular resort is Tangshan Easpring Resort, where tourists can satisfy their desire to both get for close to nature and relax by soaking in any of the nearly 50 pools, all of which have different styles and functions. These include: health preservation enhanced by Chinese herbal medicines, beautifying therapy, waterfall spa, marble spa, and spa with fragrant flowers. Visitors can also experience unique u foreign spas, such as Turkish style spa, and Bali Island style spa.
