Another model that scored among the worst in Consumer Reports road testing is the smallest car on the market, the diminutive two-seat Smart ForTwo. It's also the slowest car CR tested for 2012, clocked to reach 60 mph in a languid 14.6 seconds. Testers liked that it had a tight turning circle and was easy to park, but took exception with its acceleration, transmission, ride, agility and noise. And while it gets stellar fuel economy at 34/38 mpg, the ForTwo requires premium fuel, which tends to siphon off any financial savings at the pump at around an extra 20 cents per gallon. How smart is that?
