Alex Ferguson has served as the manager of Manchester United for over 25 years, the longest serving boss in the club's history and the best coach in the Premier League's first 20 years. The Scot has been named the World's Best Coach of the 21st Century by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS).

Since November 1986, the winning combination of Ferguson's excellent managerial skills and unrelenting personality has led the team to numerous victories. He has helped the team gain 12 league titles, the latest one of which was in 2011. Other major trophy wins include 2 European Cups, 5 FA Cups, 4 League Cups, 1 European Cup Winners' Cup and 1 European Super Cup.

This mover and shaker's annual salary has increased from a mere £60,000 when he first joined the club, to an estimated £5 million at present. Reports have surfaced that the club will continue with him for another year, but this time at a cost of £7.5 million, which includes £6.5 million in salary and a £1 million bonus.
