Founded in 1984 with an investment of merely 200,000 yuan (US$31,746), Legend Holdings has been developed into a large-scale conglomerate which covers such business fields as IT products and services, consumption and modern services, chemical new materials, capital management and real estate. It owns the following leading businesses: Lenovo Group (the world's 2nd largest PC vendor), Digital China, Legend Capital, Hony Future Investment and Raycom Real Estate. In 2011, the company had about 45,000 employees worldwide, and its total assets hit 150.5 billion yuan (US$23.9 billion). It reported 183.1 billion yuan (US$29.1 billion) in revenue and 1.8 billion yuan (US$285.7 million) in net profits. Legend Holdings was ranked 55th among the top 500 Chinese companies in 2012. Lenovo Group was ranked 370th among Fortune's Global 500 and 989th on Forbes' Global 2000 list in 2012.
