Amazon.com, incorporated by Jeff Bezos in July 1994 and online in 1995, is now the largest online retailer in the world. It started out as an online bookstore, but soon diversified, selling DVDs, CDs, MP3 downloads, software, video games, electronics, apparel, furniture, food, toys, and jewelry. So far, the company has separate retail websites for the following countries: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Japan, and China. In Q4 2011, Amazon reported a 35 percent climb year-on-year in revenues, amounting to a total of $17.43 billion.
