Google Inc. is an American multinational corporation which provides internet-related products and services, including internet search engines, virtual private networks, software and advertising technologies. It was formed by Larry Page and Sergey Brin in September 1998. Aside form its search engine and online software, Google's products extend to the desktop as well, with applications for web browsing, organizing and editing photos, as well as instant messaging. Recently, Google is increasingly becoming a hardware company through its cooperation with major electronics manufacturers on its high-end Nexus series and its acquisition of Motorola Mobility in May 2012.
