Jiwanggu Tomb, one of the 'Top 10 Chinese archaeological discoveries in 2013' by China.org.cn

Jiwanggu Tomb [Xinhua]

Located 40 km northwest of Yishui County, Shandong Province, the Jiwanggu Tomb from the late Spring and Autumn Period was discovered by construction workers in early 2012. Later, archeologists excavated many exquisite jade and bronze objects, including eight horse statues, four carriages and sacrificial wares, proving that the tomb belonged to people in the upper class of the time. Many objects like bronze sacrificial vessels, musical instruments and weapons offer value for the study on the history of the Spring and Autumn period (770 - 476 BC).
