Located in Heshan District of Yiyang City, Hunan Province, archaeologists have found 14 old wells with an average depth of 9 to 10 meters. Nine of them are under excavation and bamboo scripts have been excavated from all of them. More than 5,000 bamboo scripts have been discovered so far, spanning the period from the Warring States (476-221 BC) to the Wu Kingdom (229-280 AD) of the Three Kingdoms Period (220-280 AD). According to the unearthed bamboo scripts, the area was the site of the government during that time.
