This initiative, launched in 2014, is reforesting parts of the Ganges Basin, promoting sustainable farming and reviving key wildlife species. It has also invested in water treatment and waste management, while raising public awareness and engaging communities in ecosystem conservation and restoration.

Government investment so far: $4.25 billion

River banks restored so far: 370 kilometers

Afforestation so far: 30,000 hectares

2030 afforestation target: 135,000 hectares
