9. The West Lake

Sanyanyingyue, or three ponds mirroring the lake, is on one of the most familiar bank notes. We touch it every day, since it is the subject of 1 Yuan note of the fifth series. The three ponds are key scenic spots at the West Lake, representing a high artistic level of the Suzhou Garden.
