8. The Potala Palace

The Potala Palace is a holy land for Tibetan Buddhism and is located in the center of Lhasa city. Built on the Red Hill, Potala Palace is famous for its grand buildings, complicated architecture, devotional atmosphere and splendid artworks. It is featured on the 50 Yuan note of the fifth series.
