The North Sea scenic area lies in the hinterlands of Mount Huangshan and is surrounded by the Bright Top, the Shixin Peak, the Lion Peak and the White Goose Peak. It has the Cloud Valley scenic area in the east, the Jade Screen scenic area in the south and the Pine Valley scenic area in the north.

Covering 1,316 hectares of open land with an elevation of 1,600 meters, the scenic area has many an amazing attraction, including the Refreshing Terrace, the Monkey Gazing at the Sea and the Flying Stone.

Among the many magnificent peaks scattered across the area, the Shimen Peak and the Gongyang Apex are both more than 1,800 meters high.

The Bright Top (1,860 meters, i.e. 6,102 feet), the second highest peak of Mount Huangshan, is an ideal place to watch the sea of clouds floating by.

The Refreshing Terrace on the 1,690-meter-high Lion Peak is the best possible place for watching clouds and sunrises.

In addition, the Black Tiger Pine, Lovers' Pine, Two Immortals Playing Chess, all of which have interesting legends behind them, make for a lot of fun to watch.

The North Sea scenic area is a place you'll never want to miss out on when touring Mount Huangshan.
