Huangshan, a city of 9,807 square kilometers with a population of 1.47 million, does not have any fancy shopping venues, but does boast bustling shopping streets and markets for those who are willing to buy some local specialties. Local supermarkets and department stores are also options for those shopping for souvenirs.

Below are some recommendations:

-- Tunxi Ancient Street (屯溪老街)

Tunxi Ancient Street 

Tunxi Ancient Street, located in the center of Tunxi District, Huangshan City, is a pedestrian commercial street dated back to the Song Dynasty ((960-1279). Measured 1.5 kilometers long and 7 meters wide, the street is lined up with distinctive Huizhou style shops selling a great variety of souvenirs which are characteristic of local Hui culture. It attracts six million foreign and domestic visitors every year, and is also a popular site for shooting films and TV series.

Tea City

Mount Huangshan is a famous tea producing area in China and boasts several of China's most famous teas like the Huangshan Maofeng Tea and the Keemun Black Tea. Tourists can go to the Tea City in downtown Huangshan City to experience the tea culture, taste tea and appreciate tea-making art. The tea city is the largest tea trading center in south Anhui Province.
