Hot spring in Mount Huangshan

The hot spring in Mount Huangshan gushes out of the Purple Peak at an elevation of 850 meters and its temperature remains at a constant 42°C all year round. Rich in carbonic acid, the hot spring is said to have a number of benefits such as curing problems with digestion, nervous system, cardiovascular system, and metabolism.

Legend has it that Huang Di, the ancestor of the Chinese nation, bathed here 49 days before he ascended to heaven and became immortal.

In any case, it is never a bad idea to relax in a hot spring after a day climbing the mountain.

However, remember this. Before bathing in a hot spring, it is essential to consult medical staff at the venue to find out about the advantages and disadvantages of the healing waters. People with high blood pressure or under medication may not be able to bathe in the hot spring.
