Huizhou Bamboo Weaving

Bamboo weaving, a form of bamboo handicraft, is a tradition in Huangshan. Huizhou bamboo weaving started in the Tang and Song dynasties and prevailed in Ming and Qing dynasties when people used bamboo weavings as daily utensils such as bowls, cups, plates, and bottles.

Huizhou bamboo weaving demands high skills that involves separating a bamboo strip into up to 150 thin bamboo strips and then weaving them into various shapes. Many tourists to Huangshan like these unique handicrafts.
