Palestinians protest military operations
Adjust font size:

Palestinians in the West Bank city of Ramallah marched against Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday. The protests have been repeated daily over during Israel's assault on Hamas militants in Gaza.

Palestinian legislator Mustafa Barghouti urged both sides to agree to a ceasefire, in an effort to allow humanitarian aid through to Gaza's residents.

Israel put military operations in parts of the Gaza Strip on hold for three hours on Wednesday to allow aid through a humanitarian corridor. But emergency workers in Gaza said the ceasefire was not enough time to conduct relief work.

International pressure on Israel to halt the assault is mounting as the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip escalates.
