A Foreign Ministry spokesman on Thursday said that China is ready to work with Japan to push forward bilateral ties.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Liu Weimin told a daily press conference that China took note of the speech made by Japanese Foreign Minister Koichiro Genba on Wednesday.

China is willing to work with Japan to continuously strengthen dialogue, enhance political mutual trust and deepen exchanges and cooperation in all areas on the basis of the four political documents between the two countries, so as to push forward the healthy and stable development of China-Japan strategic and mutually beneficial relations, Liu said.

The four political documents were signed by the two sides in 1972, 1978, 1998 and 2008, respectively, to promote bilateral relations.
