Belarus is ready to boost its cooperation with China in the fields of culture and finance, Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to China Victor Burya said Wednesday.

Burya made the remarks at a photography exhibition held in north China's city of Tianjin. The exhibition featured photos taken by former Chinese Ambassador to Belarus Yu Zhenqi and was held to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of China-Belarus diplomatic relations.

China-Belarus cooperation has great potential in multiple sectors, including the manufacturing, aerospace, communications and pharmaceutical industries, Burya said.

"We have maintained comprehensive cooperation in different fields and made great progress. We are looking for more investment from Chinese companies in the areas of culture, science and technology," said Vadim Senyuta, minister counsellor of Belarus.

China-Belarus trade volume reached 2.68 billion U.S. dollars in the first eleven months of 2011, according to official statistics from Belarus. About 2,000 Chinese students are currently studying in universities in Belarus, according to the statistics.
