He made a plea deal to avoid a more serious charge, Driving Under the Influence, and he also avoids serving any time in jail.

This puts an end to a seven months legal mess. Bieber was arrested in January in Miami Beach.

Police said Bieber was in an illegal street race in an upscale residential neighborhood with R&B singer Khalil Amir Sharieff.

Neither was charged with racing.

Judge William Altfield, who accepted Bieber's plea, says it's time for the 20-year-old singer to stop his misbehavior.

"I hope that he realizes that his actions not only lead to consequences that affect him but they lead to consequences that affect others that are looking up to him as a role model."

The plea deal Bieber struck with prosecutors includes a 12-hour anger management course, a 50-thousand US dollar charitable contribution, already made to a local children's organization, plus a 500 dollar fine.
