The film, written and directed by Damien Chazelle and starring Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, John Legend and Rosemarie DeWitt, follows a musician and an aspiring actress who meet and fall in love in Los Angeles.

Besides the seven wins from the Globes, it also received numerous awards and nominations, including being chosen by the American Film Institute as one of the top ten films of 2016 and winning the Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Picture.

Although it has won many accolades, the film's prospects in the Chinese market are still unknown, as Chinese audiences are mostly not fans of musicals.

No confirmed release date has been given yet.

The film is produced by Gilbert Films, Impostor Pictures, Marc Platt Productions and distributed by Summit Entertainment in global market. China Film Co. will distribute the film with Bai An Pictures (Shanghai) Co. and Joy Pictures.

Sources close to distributors also told China.org.cn that director Chazelle and actor Gosling will be in China to promote the film at the end of January. Stone may be absent due to scheduling conflicts.
