Four people were killed by a fire on private houses in east China's Zhejiang Province, local government said on Saturday.

One house went on fire at noon Saturday in Tonglu County, which soon spread to neighboring houses. The local fire brigade extinguished the fire two hours later.

Investigation into the cause of the fire is under way.
