Man Killing 6 People Arrested in Jilin
Adjust font size:

Police in northeast China's Jilin Province have nabbed a man who killed six villagers and injured nine others, according to a statement from the Changchun city government on Saturday.

Liu Liliang, after drinking some alcohol, killed the six people in Sunjiawopu village in the suburbs of Changchun, capital of Jilin, at 2:30 PM Tuesday, and then ran away and hided. Police sources said Liu had "economic disputes" with some of the villagers.

Police received reports of the killing about half an hour later and rushed to the village.

Police seized Liu at 5:20 PM Friday after combing the area for three days.

Local villagers lined up along the road to send off police with applause after Liu was caught, according to the statement.

Related sources said more details would be released after investigation concludes.
