Four people were killed and 14 were injured in an expressway pile-up involving 12 vehicles in central China's Henan Province on Thursday, a local official said.

Visibility was down to around 10 meters due to heavy fog when the accident occurred at around 10:00 a.m. on the Xinxiang section of the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway, one of the injured was quoted by the official with the Xinxiang municipal government as saying.

The expressway section reopened to traffic as normal two hours later, the official said.
