Bank of China Sells 5% Stake to Singapore's Temasek
Bank of China said yesterday that it has sold a 5 percent stake to Singapore-based Temasek Holdings (Private) Limited, and completed its pre-IPO talks with three other strategic investors: the Royal Bank of Scotland Group, Swiss bank UBS, and the Asian Development Bank.
Cross-border Heroin Ring Smashed
A two-year operation involving Chinese mainland, Taiwan and Thai police forces has smashed a cross-border drug ring resulting in the arrest of 11 people and the seizure of 57.4 kilograms of heroin. It is the first drug-trafficking action involving cooperation between mainland and Taiwan police. Details of the operation were announced by the General Administration of Customs in Beijing yesterday.
3 Chinese Engineers Killed in Pakistan
Three Chinese engineers were killed when their car was attacked by gunmen in the southwest Pakistan province of Balochistan on Wednesday.
China's Internet Management Lawful
Regulators told a press conference in Beijing yesterday that since 2000, China has enacted serial regulations and laws for Internet service providers, including Internet Regulations and Internet Information Services Regulations by which China has managed its Internet market in line with international conventions.
