Hong Kong to Hold World Music Day

Hong Kong will hold on June 17 to 21 for the second time Fte de la Musique (The World Music Day) in line with the spirit of music for every one.

The event is organized by the Consulate-General of France. More than 30 musical events will be presented by French musicians and Hong Kong partners during the event and all of them will be open to the public free.

According to a spokeswoman for the Consulate-General of France, Fte de la Musique aims at popularizing music among people from all walks of life

The event offers great opportunity for people to enjoy music together and to communicate with each other through music. Macao will also join the event for the first time.

French famous pop singer Nilda Fernandex and 12 talented young French musicians grouping together as "French Colors" will be giving free concerts as highlights of the event.

It is intended to promote cultural exchange through music by holding this international event in Hong Kong, according to the organizers.

Launched by the French Ministry for Culture in 1982 to promote interactive through music, Fte de la Musique has spread to more than 250 cities in over 100 countries, holding the event on every June 21.
