Int'l Chorus Festival at Hukou Waterfall

An international chorus festival involving more than 1,000 performers is being held next month at the famous Hukou Waterfall, in Shanxi Province, on China's Yellow River.

The Chorus Festival, from June 10 to 12, is to mark 60th anniversary of China's Anti-Japanese War and the 100th anniversary of the birth of the renowned musician Xian Xinghai, who composed the Yellow River Chorus.

The participants not only include domestic workers and students, but also more than 300 overseas Chinese, part of six choirs from Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong.

During the two-day festival, the choruses will perform classic songs themed around the Yellow River combined with their own repertoires.

The finale will see all thousand people perform together against the backdrop of the grand Hukou Waterfall.
