The western opera classic Turandot, directed by Chinese filmmaker Zhang Yimou, was staged at France Stadium in Paris Saturday.

Designed and based on traditional Chinese culture and aesthetics, the play gave the audience of 35,000 an artistic feast with the magnificent Forbidden City and 1,500 gorgeous costumes as its backdrop.
