International Wushu Tournament to Be Held in Nanning

The first Southeast Asia International Wushu tournament will be held in Nanning, capital city of Guangxi from November 8 to 11, the organizers announced on Tuesday.

The tourney, jointly organized by Chinese Wushu association and Nanning Municipal Government, will draw hundreds of athletes from China, all the ASEAN nations, South Korea, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and DPR Korea.

"The tourney will feature not only the traditional Wushu Skills and Tricks but also the more competitive Sanshou," said Jing Suijun, director of Nanning Sports Bureau.

Wushu, or Chinese martial arts, enjoys a high reputation in the world. Nanning, the host city of the tourney, also boasts two world champions Huang Chunni and Lin Jianshen.
