Central Economic Work Conference
About the meeting: China held the Central Economic Work Conference on December 3-5, 2007 in Beijing to determine economic policies for 2008 amid efforts to prevent the economy from overheating and to curb inflation. The annual event, initiated more than a decade ago, serves as a crucial mechanism for the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council to run the Chinese economy.
