Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on Monday said relations between Cambodia and China have been "entering into the best stage of the history."
In a meeting with visiting Li Jinzhang, assistant minister of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hun Sen said that in recent years, exchanges of high-level visit between the two countries have been frequent, mutual trust has deepened and the cooperation in economy, trade and tourism has been strengthened steadily.
The premier thanked the Chinese government for its sincere help extended to Cambodia. He expressed the hope that Cambodia and China, especially the young of the two countries, to enhance exchanges in culture, sports and other fields to further promote and consolidate the traditional relations between the two countries.
Hun Sen also expressed welcome to more Chinese enterprises to invest in Cambodia and more Chinese tourists to visit Cambodia.
On the Taiwan issue, the premier reaffirmed the government's stance to stick to the one-China policy, firmly support China's reunification cause, and never allow any activity of Taiwan independence in Cambodia.
Li expressed appreciation of the Cambodian government's adherence to the one-China policy. He said that the Chinese government treasures the friendship relations with Cambodia and will make efforts to deepen the friendly and cooperative relations in all-round way.
Li also conveyed regards from Premier Wen Jiabao and Vice President Zeng Qinghong to Hun Sen.
On Sunday, Li and his delegation also met with King Norodom Sihamoni. They exchanged views on bilateral relations and the issues of common concern.
Li and his delegation arrived in Phnom Penh on Saturday for a five-day official visit at the invitation of King Norodom Sihamoni and former King Norodom Sihanouk.
