FM holds phone talks with Solana over Iran nuclear issue
Adjust font size:

Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi held phone talks with EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana Tuesday and both sides exchanged views on Iran's nuclear issue.

Yang elaborated on the Chinese government's position over the Iran nuclear issue, saying it should be settled peacefully through diplomatic negotiations.

China supports the efforts made by the European Union (EU) in seeking an appropriate solution to the issue through diplomatic negotiations, Yang said.

Solana briefed Yang on a recent meeting between the EU and Iran. Both China and the EU also agreed to keep close contact on the issue.
