Senior legislator meets Palestinian guest
Adjust font size:

Oyunqemag, vice-chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, on Tuesday met Nayef Hawatmeh, general secretary of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) at the Great Hall of the People.

Oyunqemag said China would continue as it has always done to support the just cause of Palestine, maintain friendly ties with the DFLP and make joint efforts to promote China-Palestine friendship and the development of the Middle East peace process.

Hawatmeh informed Oyunqemag of the latest development on the Palestine-Israel issue and said he hoped China could play a bigger role in settling the issue.

Hawatmeh, at the invitation of the Chinese People's Association For Friendship With Foreign Countries, is visiting China from Dec.15 to 22.
