Visiting Chinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan on Tuesday spoke highly of relations with Luxemburg, vowing to further enhance the development of bilateral ties.

During his meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Luxemburg Jean Asselborn, Zeng expressed satisfaction with the development of ties since the two countries established diplomatic relations 35 years ago.

Bilateral cooperation in political, economic and trade fields is fruitful, he said, adding China is willing to enhance high-level exchanges and promote the friendly and cooperative ties with Luxemburg.

Zeng said the cooperation has great potential, especially in the fields of finance, iron and steel, and satellite communications.

He expressed appreciation for the one-China policy pursued by the government of Luxemburg.

Asselborn said his country and China enjoy close relations with frequent exchanges of visits by officials of both countries and development of economic and trade cooperation.

Luxemburg is ready to promote its relations with China, as well as the European-Sino relations, including cooperation in the fields of finance, iron and steel, and satellite communications, said the deputy prime minister.

Asselborn expressed appreciation for China's constructive role in resolving the nuclear issue on the Korean peninsula and other world affairs.

He stressed the one-China policy is the foundation of Luxemburg's relations with China, adding his country will continue to adhere to the policy.

On a separate occasion, Zeng met with Minister for the Treasury and Budget Luc Frieden.

The Chinese vice premier arrived in Luxemburg on Monday for an official visit.
