30,000 AIDS Patients to Receive Free Treatment in China

China is to offer free herbal treatment to some 30,000 AIDS patients in 15 provinces. It will spend US$3.5 million on the campaign in five heavily AIDS-stricken provinces.

A batch of 2,000 patients in Hebei, Henan, Anhui, Hubei and Guangdong provinces will be the first to receive the treatment.

China will spend 29 million yuan, or US$3.5 million, over three years on the campaign in these five provinces.

A training course of herbal medicine treatment is also held in Henan Province, which is believed to be the province most severely hit by AIDS.
