Renovation Launched in Beijing West Station

The Beijing Municipal Government has invested 7.6million yuan or US$920,000 into a two-month renovation of Beijing West Railway Station.

Travelers have had to put up with various problems of late brought about by the underground exit system's failure to meet original design standards as well as long overdue repairs.

A third of the lights at the railway station are currently not functioning properly, and the floor space of 18,000 square meters has been badly damaged.

The renovations will address these problems, and hopefully result in a greatly improved station environment.
