The roof of an airport terminal under construction on the Spanish island of Minorca collapsed on Thursday, injuring at least three people, the regional government said.

The building was at Mahon airport and was "closed to passengers," it said.

Local media said that there had been heavy rains on the Mediterranean island over the past few days, but the cause of the incident was not yet immediately clear.
