US researchers suggest that the best way to persuade someone to do as you wish is to speak moderately quickly, pause frequently and not be too animated, BBC reports. 美国研究人员称,说服别人的最佳方式就是讲话时语速要适度﹑经常停顿且不要过分热情。
The study analyzed just under 1,400 calls trying to persuade people to take part in phone surveys. Those who spoke very fast, did not pause or were too animated were least successful. 据英国广播公司报道,在对不到1400个劝人参与电话调查的电话进行分析后,研究人员发现那些语速特快﹑中间不停顿或者太过热情的人最不易劝人成功。

A UK language expert said it showed "it's not about what you say, but how you say it."
