With April Fools' Day coming up, netizens have mischievously selected this year's top 10 fools in China. Many celebs from the worlds of show biz, sports and literature made it onto the list.

Li Yi is a Chinese soccer player and coach. But his critical and pretentious off-field comments often overshadow his soccer skills. Internet comments claiming Li compared himself to Thierry Henry, have made him a target for ridicule. Fans dubbed him Imperator Li Yi the Great, and he has become an Internet figure of fun along the lines of Chuck Norris in the United States.

But Li denies ever comparing himself to Henry. After Shenzhen Jianlibao beat Suwon Samsung Bluewings 1-0 at home, Li said he had shielded the ball at the corner flag in injury time to ensure victory, as he had seen Thierry Henry do. The media had sensationalized his comments, Li said.
